Press Release:
Hasbro will be hosting the Galactic Swap Meet at the Hasbro booth at Celebration V! Bring your surplus Build-a-Droid parts and trade with us, and other fans, as our booth becomes the hub for some serious droid-part-swapping!
We will have a limited supply of complete parts available for 14 of the buildable droids from the Legacy/Droid Factory basic figure line (see attached poster for exact droids we will have). Just bring your extra Legacy/Droid Factory parts and trade them 1-for-1 for parts you need to complete your unfinished droids.
Even if you don’t see the droids for which you need parts on the list, bring what you have anyway... there’s always a chance that another fan will have what you need.
To ensure that as many people as possible can complete their droids, we ask that only 2 Droid pieces be exchanged per person per day.
[Editor's Note: Massive thanks to the Boss for putting this together.]
We will be monitoring [hint — encouraging] comments (for quality control, naturally) for a bit as we pack our bags and go through our checklists leading up to Celebration V in Orlando, FL. Comments can lead to goodies like Hasbro's Star Wars posters from Comic-Con 2010 (and maybe even surplus posters going back a few years); a set (or more once we take stock) of those oh-so frame-worthy backer cards (from Hasbro, naturally); and whatever goodies we stu
Our pal Victoria sent us a picture of a new Saga Legends Obi-Wan Kenobi variation hitting stores now. Both figures share the same SKU, but different tools were employed to make this figure. The first release was a repack of the Attack of the Clones Outlander Club version, sold as part of the dark blue and gold carded "Saga" figures in late 2003. The second release is based on the 2008 Revenge of the Sith figure on the "30th Anniversary" style cards which included display stands. Both are packed with guns, a card, a display
Hey kids, it's the brand-new (as of this week [or last month]) General Grievous! He has swappable heads, arms you can rip off, and even hackable legs. Unfortunately, his plastic is a little soft. Is he worth tracking down? Read on!
A few Target stores are beginning their resets for Back to School and that includes finally putting out some new Star Wars merchandise. The store in Chandler Village, Arizona rolled out their merch with Clone Wars and Saga Legend pricepoints at $6.99 and Vintage at $7.99 (AT-AT was $99.99) Also on the shelves are the new Hoth Assault and Clone Troopers & Droids Battle Packs. Happy Hunting Hunters. Now's the time for the late night runs and burning that gas! Whoohooo!!
The latest wave of new blue card Clone Wars action figures have been found by Mickey Gunslinger at a Walmart in Albuquerque (we guess Mickey must have taken that left turn!) The new figures include CW20 Mace Windu with battle damage Jango helmet, CW22 Battle Droid Commander, and CW24 Jungle Camo ARF Trooper.
Hey kids, it's Coleman Trebor! This retooled version of the dinosaur-like Jedi Knight may still be at a Target near you, and at full price. Is he worth the purchase? Read on!
Shaking off the post-Comic-Con whiplash/hangover the lads over at Sandtroopers.com slap up one more new piece to blow our socks off. The 2010 TIE Bomber from Hasbro's Vintage Collection has more new features than expected. (Turn a dial at the back to drop missiles?) Who would have ever thought that would happen (and work)? There's also the modern convenience of having an ejecting TIE Pilot.
Hey kids, it’s that time again! Time to stop looking for Jabba’s Throne and read Q&A while pretending to work. This week: Geonosis 2-packs 2.0, the chances of finding those Clone Wars figures you missed(again), and crazy giant vehicle rumors. You know you gotta read on!
Your pal and mine David Silva just updated his site Creative Beast with his work on the original sculpt for the just-released Jabba the Hutt! Wow! Check it out, won't you? Be sure to see all his amazing work, including McFarlane Toys figures and dinosaur sculptures!
Another in a series of hastily-written Star Wars toy impressions! This time, Wal-Mart's exclusive Jabba the Hutt! We reveal secrets, and you get to see Oola's shirt off. Read on!
We located one Jabba the Hutt with Oola Action Figure set at Wal-Mart in Phoenix, Arizona this afternoon. It it exclusive to the chain, and for those keeping track it was $34.97. It is worth noting that the pipe and bowl are retooled and do not include Jabba's creature snacks, so you may wish to hold on to the 2004 model's accessories.
The guys at Endor Express have a story on the two exclusives that Disney will be offering at Celebration V. One is a sneak peek at the Starspeeder 1000, and it's a lot oranger than the current model. The other is an all-black Donald Duck in Shadow Trooper outfit. You want to know about pricing and edition sizes, right? Better go check the full story at Endor Express!
Our sponsors at TOY PALACE have released their latest newsletter info. Star Wars items include Sideshow's 12" Sandtrooper Corporal and pre-orders being taken for the E2 Premium Format Clone Trooper!
