Galactic Hunter: The easiest and hardest question to tackle was partially answered at Celebration V. As collectors asked whether the Young Boba Fett's Slave I from The Clone Wars animated series would lead to Slave 1 from The Empire Strikes Back, the answer was simple and obvious —'Yes, if it sells well enough.' So there's an additional sales pitch! The question is, hypothetically (aside from paint ops) what changes could/would be made, and what figures (again hypothetically) would the team like to see included? This would be the perfect chance to get a mustachioed Bespin Guard out, or is he going to get the fully carded treatment?
Galactic Hunter: Did all of the children swapping droid parts (and showing off their "kitbash" droids) at the along with the adults offering to buy them do anything to persuade Team Star Wars to put together a little Build-A-Droid/Droid Factory playset? (It can be mostly cardboard even - it's obvious that the droids are the focus and play pattern. That was COOL!)
For 5 POP's and $7 bucks, you can get a small piece of your childhood back. Well, for a lot of us. VCP03 Rocket Firing Boba Fett has a special place in Star Wars collecting history and kudos to Hasbro for making this mailaway happen. The first wave is shipping now, so be nice to your mailman lest he get bent out of shape.
Hey kids, it's another Clone Pilot. This one is notable because it has a distinctive helmet which, so far, has not been used on any other figures. Note the enclosed face but, aside from that, it's similar to the Revenge of the Sith helmets. I like it. Should you? Read on!
For VC09 Boba Fett, Hasbro updates last year's BD36 (which in turn was an update of the Evolutions Fett), gives it a more authentic paint refresh, and tweaked the helmet to make it a little more movie accurate. We can nitpick about wrist articulation and giving him a Jeremy Bulloch as Chuck Norris head, but this figure coupled with the awesome vintage packaging needs to be on your hunt list if you can find one. It really is the best Fett yet. Post your comments and let us know what you think!
Reports are coming in of collectors receiving their Mail Away Vintage Boba Fetts from coast to coast. The not so good news is the mailer boxes haven't been the sturdiest and cards have been coming in bent and crushed.
Just how many one-of-a-kind action figuresare there? Aside from the joke answer, that is. Still more questions about the new C-3PO figure, which, science assures me, is awesome. And how dead is Shadows of the Empire anyway? Read on, find out!
You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have VC08 Darth Vader. An awesome new head sculpt with the body of the Evo Vader is diminished by the inability of the 3 piece helmet to stay together. With apologies to Tootie, what's your take on the new Dark Lord of the Sith? Post your comments and be heard!
Attention Lucasphiles: George Lucas' first film, THX-1138, hit the Blu-Ray format next year. Star Wars will be coming to the format in 2011, but you can get this dystopian flick right now for about $20. This is the "special edition" which, like with Star Wars, has some new scenes, new effects, and a few edits. If you've never seen the movie before, it is absolutely worth watching. I suggest really late on a Saturday night before you go to bed, because it's a pretty disturbing film.
In the Star Wars universe, when one makes an assessment of a particularly dire situation, like, oh say, an impending land battle with a superior Imperial force, you're better off saying "I have a bad feeling about this" rather than an over exuberant "feeling you can take on the whole Empire" yourself. VC07 Dack Ralter features a whole new head sculpt and some recycled parts from previously released pilots. Make sure to post your comments!
Sideshow has announced the edition size of their ultra cool Premium Format Cyborg Darth Maul at 1250 pieces. What's big, green, and mean? Not this guy. But this Clone Trooper is green, and carries a mean gun. Did you start building your army of this one yet? If not, should you? Read on!
In designing VC06 See-Threepio (C-3PO), Hasbro had to find middle ground between authenticity and play value. The all new figure has a great sculpt, articulation, and more prominently, cool removable panels to reveal his droid innards. But to allow this feature, Hasbro compromised his shiny golden-ness by relinquishing the vac metal deco. Did they do the figure justice?
