This is a good one. The Yellow R6-Series Astromech Droid was probably my favorite from the ones I was able to get in Orlando last month, because it looks just familiar and just different enough to be awesome. It's also in some really gonzo color. Is it worth tracking down?
This week, the final round of your questions for Hasbro at Celebration VI! Next week, back to me making up stuff, this week the answers come from Hasbro in Orlando, and a big thanks to them for putting up with my and my nonsense! As an added bonus, the end has hands-on impressions of Toys R Us' new Speeder Bike. It's worth the asking price. Read on!
Target has finally released the new and highly anticipated Darth Maul Returns Battle Pack this week and it looks fantastic, especially for $19.99, which is is three bucks cheaper than the rest of the older Battle Packs on the shelf.
A few of you have written in asking which Fighter Pods were exclusive to the series 3 blind bags. A good question! But let's do you one better and give you a Star Wars Fighter Pods Series 3 Checklist!
The Naboo Starfighter Pack is the sole carded "vehicle pack" in Star Wars Fighter Pods Series 3. (There's a boxed one too, so don't fret too much.) It includes an exclusive Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, and Naboo Starfighter while introducing the new "Spinfire Launchers" which aren't half bad. Despite the series being more than 50% repaints, the new elements are actually a heck of a lot of fun in this set. See the video and figures after the jump... or don't. Whatever.
Good news, everyone! Star Wars Fighter Pods Series 3 are here! I got a box of blind-bagged figures the other day and made a short video highlighting the new packaging and new figures like Savage Opress, Ahsoka Tano, and Princess Leia in Boushh Disguise. Several awesome new figures are included, as well as an obscene number of new holographic figures... including Jabba the Hutt. Want to see more? Check out the video after the jump.
This Plo Koon was built off a modified 2002 release with some changes made from the waist on down, allowing the figure to sit. Sort of. Is it worth getting? Should you complete the Jedi High Council?
The ToysRUs exclusive Speeder Bike with Scout Trooper is out with sightings in Southern California and the Metro Phoenix area. The all new vehicle with loads of details and extras and an almost all new Scout Trooper figure retails for $21.99.
One last reminder that our Marc Ecko Fett Tee and Hoodie Gievaway ends tomorrow. There are a lot of excellent ideas in the comments so far! Make sure to enter your submission in the original post here.
Sideshow is now taking pre-orders for their Star Wars Legendary Scale Busts Captain Rex Legendary Scale Bust. This 1:2 scale bust features extraordinary detail and includes a DC-17 Blaster and moveable antenna.
It's R5-D8! I know it looks like R5-D4, but it's not. Trust me. This redeco uses a build-a-droid body and creates Jek Porkins' trusty droid in a different paint job than they did for Galactic Heroes.
Not quite as exciting as an all-new astromech, this older Destroyer Droid has limited articulation but a decent sculpt. There's not a lot to it, but it looks good. Want to know more? Read on!
Given the nebulous nature of what constitutes an actual full figure, the Red R9-Series Astromech Droid is more than a little arbitrary. We'll be viewing the Star Tours Droid Factory figures as unique characters, defined by the dome. (The body is, of course, up to you.) This one is bright red, almost orange, with a rich silver texture and a softer sculpt than his brothers. Is it worth the trip and obscene price on eBay?
If you've been waiting for a good time to jump on the ToysRUs exclusive Podracer Pilots, now's your chance. Toys R Us (in stores only) has marked down the exclusive multi pack 50% off for only $12.49 each. Doing the math, that's about $2.50 per figure and those nifty flags so head on over to your local store today. The sale ends on September 22.
