This week on The Clone Wars: Let's ape the police procedural in "Sabotage." The Jedi Temple is attacked, and even the Jedi are suspects. Call in Anakin, Ahsoka, and the David Caruso Robot to investigate! This story kicks off what we are told is the final arc of an abridged season, although to be honest, the storyline could probably end right here and you wouldn't miss much. (And this one is a little late thanks to Toy Fair, but we'll have the next installment in a couple of days.) As always, video and spoilers await you after the jump!
Under-collected, underappreciated, and cheap, figures like this Ikopi are a cheap thrill. The little creatures have no articulation but are the only representations of numerous wildlife in plastic. If you're like me and you loved the designs of The Phantom Menace a great deal, you'll find a lot to like in this small line of little animal figures.
Check out Obi-Wan Kenobi from last year's MTT. (Which was selling on Amazon for $49! Not bad for a big vehicle.) It's a mix of parts from older figures, but isn't necessarily new enough to buy. The whole package is amazing, but just Obi-Wan?
I just got back from New York, where snow, being thrown out of a cab, and posting FOTD #2,000 didn't keep me down! So today you get Nien Nunb, who may be available cheaply online right now. You'll have to check.
Welcome to FOTD #2,000! If you told me back in 2006 that I'd still be writing this column today, I would probably have told you to slap me. But we're all still here, and we're looking at Jocasta Nu because why the heck not. This online exclusive is new-ish and has a ton of gear.
Time marches on and Jar Jar Binks is, appropriately, our 1,999th entry of Figure of the Day. He has more articulation than any other 3 3/4-inch scale version of the character, but the sculpt may not be as fun. Or is it?
TOP NEWS: "Always in motion, the future is," and for the past 6 months, there has been a lot of big news for the franchise. The announcement of new Star Wars films, changing play habits, and increasing production costs have prompted Hasbro to re-align their strategy for 2013 by cancelling Droid Factory, shortening the retail cycle for the Yoda Line look, and introducing two new action figure assortments with one targeted towards adult collectors and the other towards children.
The folks at LEGO are always generous and creative with their goodie bags for their Toy Fair media guests, and this year is a good one for Star Wars.
Our Toy Fair 2013 Hasbro Fan Media event Image Bank is now uploaded featuring shots of the new Black Series 4 and 6 inch figures, Saga Legends kid oriented line, Angry Birds, and much, much more!
Click here to visit our Image Bank and stay tuned for our full report later this evening!
Here is a demo video of the upcoming Anakin to Darth Vader 12 inch action figure from Hasbro. After viewing this in person, it's easy to see how kids (and even some adults) will get a kick out of its features. The voice changes from Anakin to Vader by attaching the armor and the lightsaber color also switches from blue to red. Check it out after the jump!
As we muti-task our coverage photos and report, Hasbro sent us official photos of what was presented and on display at Toy Fair 2013. The photos have been uploaded in our Facebook page here. Enjoy and stay tuned for more! UPDATE: Product info and MSRP added! Click ahead for the full rundown!
Wait, stop! Don't skip this one yet! This Yellow R7-Series Astromech Droid is not 2008's R7-Z0. Nope, it's actually yellower and has a different pattern on the dome. It's cool! Really! Oh, and it's at Disney Hollywood Studios. So... maybe you can get one.
Let's look at Ahsoka in her first and so far only "realistic" action figure. She has 4 lightsabers in all, with 2 lit and 2 hilts. It's not a bad buy. Did you pick her up yet?
It's that time again, and yes, time for another cold and snowy weekend covering the American International Toy Fair in New York City. This is our tenth year covering the show as Galactic Hunter, and this time it feels a little different because we don't know what to expect from Hasbro.
Hasbro issues their press release today for the 110th International Toy Fair in New York City. Of particular interest to Star Wars fans are an Angry Birds Jenga Rise Of Darth Vader game and the Anakin To Darth Vader 12 inch action figure.
