This week in Star Wars Q&A - We're off! Thanks to a strange blip in our hosting, email was down and if any questions were sent in, they were not delivered.
But I feel like writing something. The Acolyte starts this week with an air of excitement, apprehension, and also whatever lingering sense of trepidation you probably have from something from the last ten years of Disney Star Wars "content." One size no longer fits all, but things do seem to be very appealing to separate groups within the fan community. And like all things pop culture, it's worth giving pretty much everything a chance. If it's great? Congratulations on having a good time. If it's awful? Well, someone is going to make $200,000 off a four-hour YouTube takedown of it eventually. I think that's the new entertainment attention economy in a nutshell.

Happy Friday everybody! Well, maybe, depending on your time zone when you read this.
We had an email outage this week - so we're out of questions, but if you have questions, send some in! You can find the address at the end of the Q&A column every week and I'd love to hear from you. Or, have a break. Either way, I hope the summer is off to a good start!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: The Mandalorian (Glavis Ringworld, The Black Series). This one's a bit different - he has a cloth cape and a knife he can keep in his boot, making it one of the better versions of the character you can buy. It's in The Book of Boba Fett packaging. Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Stormtrooper (Epic Hero Series). It looks sort of like a 1990s POTF2 figure, but with slightly less bulky proportions. The head is small, the blaster is huge, and it's actually quite charming. I'd like more of them. Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Fan Events - what's good? Also Galactic Starcruiser - when will we get the Hasbro figures? Oh, I wouldn't hold your breath.
Also, we're out of questions for next week. But we do have ramblings on May the 4th and some other things.

Ad: Pre-order the Star Wars: The Black Series Reissues Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera are ready to order right now, with delivery later this year. Don't miss them if you missed them last time!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: LOM-Series Protocol Droid (Black, Droid Factory). It's a bin build-a-figure so you may never see it again, but hey, it's neat and the kind of droid thing you'd probably be happy to see in a store if such things were possible in 2024. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Obi-Wan Kenobi (The Retro Collection). While a retro figure, this one also seems to have trace amounts of modern figures - he looks like some of the 5-jointed figures from about 12-13 years ago, but does some unique things like sculpts the Padawan braid as a part of his shoulder. He's in that six pack that seems to be available still at a Target near you, or across town, as they seem to be selling just fine around here. Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Tiers in Rain - would Hasbro do a two-tiered HasLab? Would you believe they already did one? Also retro Star Wars games so obscure even I don't know about them. Do you?
Also, we're out of questions for next week. But we do have ramblings on a figure format from 2023 that I - and I assume you - skipped.

Ad: Pre-order the Star Wars: The Black Series Reissues, Transformers Hot Wheels, and Missing Link toys! Familiar faces are ready to order right now, with delivery later this year. Orders of $79+ ship free!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Battle Droid (The Retro Collection). This one's a little weird - the sculpt looks similar to the 1999 figures, but the backpack took design cues from Boba Fett. It's melting into the back, and while it looks weird I do enjoy the design decision as it's based on an actual Kenner product. Also the Battle Droid has a far more interesting pose than most Retro figures, with a bent elbow that gives him a lot of personality. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Queen Amidala (The Retro Collection). She's in that six pack at Target you may find now, and has a lot of very 1980s details like the wavy fabric pattern on her leg interiors as well as the Leia-ish poses of her hands. She also has some thing no original figure had, like the extended collar element and her long hair. Overall, it's a pretty great figure. Read on!
ShopDisney posted a couple of Pride products, and they're really cool. The R3-RN8W Droid Factory Figure – Star Wars Pride Collection may well be the best figure they've done so far - maybe R2-RNBW is better, I don't know, I haven't been able to get one after a few years - with a clear dome, black body, and tons of color. It's great.
Also new is a R2-D2 Slider Pin – Star Wars Pride Collection – Limited Release, which has a moving droid part on it.
This week in Star Wars Q&A - The End! Are we there yet? Also Case Packs vs. Character Diversity - well, there are limits. Also HasBlab because you may have seen a leak.
Also, we're out of questions for next week. (We got one, we had two, but timeliness required I bump it up to this week.)

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Qui-Gon Jinn (The Retro Collection). As part of the new Episode I retro 6-pack, this is a pretty nice figure - the lightsaber and fabric cloak are great accessories, while the figure has a nice head sculpt that looks like it would fit in with a lot of the originals. The hair would've broken right off the head were it made in the 1980s probably, so just be happy that this one was made in modern times. Read on!
