Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R4 Droid (Advent Calendar 2022). It's a nice design, but I don't think I understood the inspiration - it looks like DHL, but not. There's a little symbol on the dome, it's kind of sparkly, but mostly it just looks like a cool droid you wouldn't mind having around in any Star Wars scenario. I like it a lot. Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Where are the guns? 45 years ago, Kenner told George he'd have guns - but it's 2023, and things are different. And Imperial Officers - do you need to buy that new 4-pack? Well, I did, I assume you'll want it.

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R3-T6 (Custom). It's not a licensed product and it was quite expensive for what it is, but it's the kind of thing I've always been surprised Kenner - and especially Hasbro - never pursued with the old R2-D2 mold. Secondary market prices on the droids from Stan Solo are getting expensive, and it makes sense - they look cool and are functionally pretty nice. I'd recommend it if you're no longer buying as much licensed stuff. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Cad Bane (The Book of Boba Fett, The Vintage Collection). I like this one - aliens in hats are not common in any action figure line, so a new version of a live-action take on everybody's favorite blue cowboy alien bounty hunter is pretty welcome. The joints are good, the deco is good, the sculpt is nice, and the price still kind of stings a bit. But it's a very nice figure. Read on!

This week in Star Wars Q&A - Where are the guns? 45 years ago, Kenner told George he'd have guns - but it's 2023, and things are different. And Topps Trading Cards are a lot less fun (and much more expensive) these days.

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Krrsantan (The Black Series). This is a perfectly nice basic figure, but it's priced as a deluxe - he's shorter than Chewbacca and has a similar accessory count, but it would seem the most popular characters are getting pulled aside for a wider box with more empty space in it with a higher price. But the sculpt is good, the articulation is well-engineered, and he has the minimum amount of accessories that you need to say "OK, he looks cool on my desk" while the smaller one has six hands and way too much gear for almost the same price. It's an increasingly bizarre line, ad a basic Kenner-style one is due shortly.

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R7-FNG. He doesn't suck! The purple vampire droid has a glow-in-the-dark dome and fake fangs, making it a ridiculous - but creative - design that I think a lot of figure collectors will want. (Star Wars collectors, who knows, but "monster" and "glow" makes it a winner in by book.) Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Let's talk vehicles. Do you think Hasbro would crowdfund a reissue? I don't. And let's talk more crowdfunding. Maybe you'll earn a sticker.

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Oola (Custom). This is a figure Jabba wanted but Kenner was unwilling to make. A fan made one last year, and then a few more, and it's pretty close to what you might expect out of Kenner from 1983. The color is a little wrong, the headdress is a tiny bit off, and the sandals may not quite match - but the same was true of a few figures back then.
She fits in perfectly with your older Return of the Jedi figures, and sadly is priced more or less accordingly. I like it - I wouldn't buy it if Hasbro charged $40. But Hasbro won't make one, so it's this or nothing. Is it worth it? Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Boba Fett (Comic Art Edition, The Vintage Collection). This is gorgeous figure at a hideous price - the mark-up on a $12.99 figure from a few years ago makes little sense, but from a technical perspective it's a nice product with great paint on a lovely cardback. We also got a Marvel Boba Fett about 15 years ago packed with a droid and a full-size comic for about $12 - so this definitely got slapped with some premium pricing. At least it's gorgeous. Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Let's talk playsets. Is anything else big in the cards? Not that I know of - but is there a way to make something small work? And that's it, we didn't get any other questions.
