Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,967: Echo (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 11, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Echo (The Black Series). It's about as close to the Borg as you will see in Star Wars, and this figure has a decent smattering of gear and a distinctive paint job. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,966: Black Krrsantan (Comic, The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 6, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Black Krrsantan (Comic, The Black Series). It's the Halloween Wookiee! We, Chewbacca with a new head and armor! Based on the comics, this is the stopgap figure you can enjoy until the TV one comes out, at which time you'll never look at this one again. It's still a good head sculpt, with a great snarl, and lots of unique features like scars and pretty bright eyes. Having said that you may have a dozen of this mold with all the Chewbaccas they've made. Read on!

Adam's Star Wars Newsletter #11 - You Pulse Con Equals More

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 4, 2022

NEU!If you want it or not, Adam's Star Wars Newsletter #11 is ready!

Back in the 1990s I wrote an email newsletter with news and rumors about all things Kenner, Galoob, and whatever else I could dig up. Sadly this is mostly limited to stuff that has been confirmed, but this has new theme park releases, updates on movies and small screen shows, and the obligatory info dump from Hasbro's Pulse Con last weekend. Spoiler: if you were expecting more Cantina or Jabba Palace figures in any size, give up.

Click here to read the full update and the old ones too!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,964: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi, The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 29, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi, The Retro Collection). Let's wrap up Old School September with this figure that looks like it came out of 1984. He's got a blaster, he's got a lightsaber, and he has one of Hasbro's very best Jedi Robes - which is surprising, given it's a retro figure. I really like this one. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,963: Death Star Droid (Black, Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 27, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Death Star Droid (Black, Custom). I was sent a fan-made custom of this figure over 25 years ago, but this made-from-new-molds "custom" is brand-new and has a shiny black finish. The detail is a little soft, but it still looks good standing in a playset or on a shelf. Read on!

Q&A: The Really Big Star Wars Hasbro Figures and Customs of Days Gone By

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, September 25, 2022

This week in Q&A - Lost Customs? Some of them may still be out there! And What's going on with bigger Hasbro figures? They're doing fine. Oh, you mean Star Wars. No, don't get your hopes up.

Also I saw Andor, the first 3 episodes of which premiered this week. Don't worry, even if I told you shot-for-shot what happens I don't know that I could call anything in it a spoiler, so much as extended exposition.

Be sure you send in your questions for next time. The mailbag is out of on-topic questions, so if you got some, send some in. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,962: Fifth Brother (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 22, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Fifth Brother (The Retro Collection). It's a good one - I like the double-bladed lightsaber, I like the lack of a vinyl cape, I like how he stands and sits and fits in my vehicles. He's fun to fuss with and arguably one of the best figures to get thanks to his cool hat. (Sure he's not doing much on the show but at least you get a decent action figure.) Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,961: Darth Vader (Dark Times, The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Darth Vader (Dark Times, The Retro Collection). White what-if figure offers a cloth cape and a non-telescoping lightsaber, giving us a functionally very different Dark Lord of the Sith toy. Unfortunately the sculpting is the flattest of the wave, with some areas having less sculpted detail than the 1978 original. (But it's still really neat.) Read on!

Q&A: No Update This Week

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, September 18, 2022

Due to a lack of new questions, I have no update for you this week!  If you have  a point of clarification or a desire to be rambled at, feel free to Email me with Q&A in the subject line or I'll have to find something else to write about in this space on Mondays. Maybe Andor recaps, who knows.
