Jeremy Bulloch - 1945-2020

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, December 17, 2020

3879 Actor Jeremy Bulloch died today.  He was 75.

Mr. Bulloch was famous among fans for his portrayal of Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.  While his voice was dubbed over, the character's largely restrained presence with careful, deliberate movements made the job of a man-in--a-suit into a a bonus career.  After his stint in a galaxy far, far away he also toured around the world at fan conventions as part of the "Men Behind the Masks" tour with the likes of David Prowse, Warwick Davis, and others.   He even came out to Arizona to do a few shows, and I have a signed figure from him.

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, December 17, 2020

It's this year's Disney Droid for the holidays!  Available online - I mean, what isn't? - BB-H20 is a quasi-candy cane colored redeco of BB-8.  If you weren't told it was a holiday thing, it would just look like any other droid - so it's subtle.  Read on!

Q&A: Star Wars Exclusives, Retro Figures, Mail-Ins, and a Pin

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, December 13, 2020

This week in Q&A - The pin! You didn't ask about it, but there now exists one piece of Galactic Hunter merch! Also old exclusives you skipped - keep skippin'. Retro reuse - Kenner was for recycling before it was in vogue. And Mail-in figures - they come up, but their era has ended by virtue of almost all figures being mail-away these days.

Lucasfilm Expands Star Wars

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, December 10, 2020

3878 In recent years a question fans have asked about Star Wars is "How much is too much?" Not because they don't want more, but because things come out so quickly that the old honeymoon period we used to enjoy after each new film - with 2 years of retro stuff and more toys from the movie we just saw - seemed to vanish.  Given the preposterous slate of new projects announced Thursday, it's entirely possible we're going to be overwhelmed once more.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,759: R5-P8 (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, December 10, 2020

Somehow easier to get than the mold from which he was repainted, R5-P8 (The Black Series 6-Inch) has teeth and lots of dirt.  He doesn't have the head blaster, but hey, new droid at Target.  It might even be in stock right now.  Read on!

Onell Design Presents the Glyorian - New Glyos Figures

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, December 8, 2020

3877 If you haven't already seen the update to the Onell Design Store, check it out.  Figures based on The Child sold out, but plenty of armored figures, Ackbar-ish figures, and parts and pieces are still available.  These indie action figures can be taken apart and reassembled at every point of articulation, allowing for a lot of customization possibilities.   They're worth a look, provided there's still anything in stock.

Q&A: Star Wars Playsets, Figures, Customers, and a Passing

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, December 6, 2020

This week in Q&A - customizers return! There's a lot of inspiration. Big Death Stars - I like them, and I cannot lie. But I wouldn't expect one this year either. Rereleases of HasLab pack-in figures - who can say? We can speculate!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,757: Todo 360 (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, December 3, 2020

It's the Seth Green robot!  There was a Detours leak this week (which I seemingly missed) but I didn't miss Todo 360 (The Black Series 6-Inch), a Pulse exclusive after the adventure of 2020's convention season.  But was he worth the $10 upcharge - or the secondary market prices?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,756: Wampa (40th Anniversary, The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, December 1, 2020

Packaged in a nice retro foil box, the Wampa (40th Anniversary, The Black Series 6-Inch) was a PulseCon exclusive that was meant to be an SDCC exclusive.   It's nice! The Wampa drops the blood from the face of the previous release and paints the paw pads to look more like the 1980s Kenner edition.  Read on!
