The Walmart exclusive Discover The Force Dewback and Vulture Droid are IN STOCK now at Walmart.com for $29.96 each. 

This set as a whole is not bad. The not fully assembled Episode I C-3PO, while lacking the 14 points of articulation we see as standard today, is as solidly sculpted and painted now as it was back in 1999. The only drawback is that he can't hold the included Anakin Podracer flag as he should be able to. The Power of the Jedi Sebulba (Boonta Eve Challenge) sculpt is good enough and Anakin Skywalker, from 2000's POTJ "mechanic" figure, is marginal for what he is due to the limited articulation. This Anakin mold is also used for the Target 2 Pack exclusive, with the "dirtier" variation for this Battle Pack.

Walmart appears to be the retailer of choice for exclusives in 2012 with their "Discover The Force" campaign. Each Hasbro Star Wars merchandise includes a pair of 3D glasses and a 3D image on the packaging to share the concept with the TPM re-rerelease. The Royal Starship Droids aren't entirely new but it is a great Battle Pack that evokes one of my favorite scenes in the film which re-introduces R2-D2 as always saving the day.

Best known to American audiences as Elaine's boss Mr. Pitt on the long-running sitcom Seinfeld, English actor Ian Abercrombie was reported dead today at 77. 

The guys at Rebelscum have posted some fantastic photos of the new Movie Heroes Wave II. These have reportedly been found in Canada, thus the variant cardbacks. A few quick hit observations are the great facial likenesses of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, Anakin grew a few inches since becoming a Padawan, and the light up sabers look absolutely stunning. The Target exclusive Evolutions Light Movie Heroes The Rise of  Darth Vader and Emergence of the Sith 2 Packs are now out. The retail is $14.99 each and the DPCI is 087060121. 

At a short glance, all four figures appear to be re-issues with slight paint modifications. Happy Hunting!

On your weekend hunt (and if you're not, you should because stuff is out and the time is NOW), keep an eye out for the 2 Movie Heroes Battle Droid variations. One is the Episode I Naboo version (cream) and the other is Episode II Geonosis red. Both are available on the pegs but it appears the red one is more available for now.

January 30th is only a few days away and ToysRUs stores are busy setting up their new The Phantom Menace 3D Feature Shop this weekend. While there sadly wasn't the traditional Midnight Madness, the stores are putting out merchandise en masse including all 2012 Hasbro and LEGO product.

As we reported earlier, the new Titanium 3 Packs were found in Walmart for an astounding $29.96 each. This is almost a $3 upcharge for each vehicle from what they originally retailed in 2009.
