It's all in the packaging and when it comes to the classic Kenner black and silver, Hasbro knows they have gold amongst nostalgic collectors. Presenting some boxed photos of the new The Vintage Collection Class II Vehicles featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter, the AT-AP, and V-19 Torrent Starfighter. These retail for $31.99 and are currently being spotted at ToysRUs.
After an over 2 year hiatus, the Titanium Die-Cast Vehicle Series returns in the form of 3 packs and priced at a steeper premium for $29.96 per set at Wal-mart (where our samples were found this evening). That's a $3 increase for each vehicle from the 2009 $6.99 MSRP.
All nine vehicles in this first wave were previously released with no distinguishable variances in deco.
As the ramp up to the release of The Phantom Menace 3D nears, so are retailers stocking their shelves with collectibles of interest that may or may not interest you. Jedi Temple Archives has posted some sample boxed shots of the next upcoming BIG Vehicle, The Trade Federation MTT Droid Carrier. As previously reported, the ship will come with 20 Battle Droids (4 fully articulated, 16 pre-posed) and electronic sounds and play features.
