Hasbro issued their Toy Fair press release breaking down their several brands, a few of which are hitting the big screen this year, including Star Wars of course. In their Star Wars announcement, they highlight their new Fighter Pods micro figure line and Star Wars AMP'D: "For the first time ever, kids will be able to quickly and easily customize the most iconic STAR WARS vehicles and prepare them for any mission: land, space, sea or air! In 2012, the line features 9 figures and 6 vehicles."
McDonalds will be promoting the release of The Phantom Menace 3D by incuding Star Wars Spinners with every Happy Meals purchase, Fans can collect up to eight character themed spinners beginning February 10th at participating McDonalds restaurants.
We've been doing this for over 12 years (except Pawlus, who has been in the thick of things since '95) and this stuff never gets old. There's always a sense of anticipation on what's to be revealed by Hasbro this Saturday for their Toy Fair Collector Media Event. Originally scheduled to be released last November, the Star Wars themed XBox 360 is now slated for April 3rd. The special bundle includes a 250 GB XBox 360 stylized like R2-D2, a gold C-3PO controller, and a white Stormtrooper Kinect Motion camera.
Walmart.com has launched a Discover The Force 3D Gallery featuring various images that can be viewed with the special 3D glasses included with their DTF exclusives. The 1999 party continues and it's happening at Walmart. The Discover The Force exclusives are now being put out just in time for the release of The Phantom Menace 3D this weekend. Our initial concerns about single case assortments being found have been proven unwarranted by the wonderful revelation that Walmart stores (most of them anyway) will be placing a POS display with all 17 exclusive pieces including 12 figures, 2 Battle Packs, 2 Vehicles, and the Qui-Gon Jinn Electronic Lightsaber. This is the brand-new Anakin Skywalker figure that Hasbro just released in the last couple of weeks. It looks a lot like the other ones, but it is indeed a brand-new, thinner sculpt with new accessories. Do you need a lightsaber launcher? Well, no, of course you don't.
