Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Chewbacca (Boushh's Bounty, The Black Series). Hasbro really doesn't like to make new Chewbacca bodies - we're still getting the Vintage 2004 one, and this The Black Series body shares the same basic build as every 6-inch scale Wookiee so far. But he has a new head, so that's something. It's new, technically, and the collar does some neat things intertwining with the fur around the neck. Otherwise? More of the same. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R2 Unit (Red, 2023 Pride Collection). Given a lot of things, it really is getting better - minus some missing paint detail under the droid's eye, this R2 unit is a colorful creation that stands out as not looking like the hundreds of astromech droids you may already have. A dark red dome on a bright red body with some pink highlights? Awesome. I like this one - and it's part of a set of six, so we'll be coming back to these over the coming weeks. Read on!
This week in Q&A - We've had film to toys, can we get more toys to film? I sure hope so. And finding really old toys at retail price is a sacred duty... more or less.
Be sure you send in your questions. The mailbag is out of questions, so if you got some, send some in. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Death Squad Commander (The Retro Collection). Known as the Star Destroyer Commander after the first couple of years, this bowl-headed fellow has a straighter rank pin but his skin color is a little weirder than the original. He's part of a Shop Disney/Hasbro Pulse shared exclusive boxed set - and I recommend checking both stores to compare pricing. Last time I checked, the set was significantly cheaper on Hasbro Pulse. Over at Variety, there's a new article called Disney Dates New ‘Star Wars’ Movie, Shifts ‘Deadpool 3’ and Entire Marvel Slate, Delays ‘Avatar’ Sequels Through 2031. That new date for Star Wars? December 18, 2026 and also May 22, 2026. Those of you who are fond of counting will realize that's two movies in one calendar year, a feat that has been attempted a few times but hasn't come to pass as of yet. (For those keeping track at home, The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story were released months apart in 2017 and 2018, respectively, and Rogue One was delayed from a May 2015 date.)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Boba Fett (Kenner Flavor, The Vintage Collection). I haven't seen one of these in stores for about a month, but I did find mine on-shelf before any shipped online - and other than the price, it's a pretty good figure. The colors aren't a perfect match, but I like someone nodding to Kenner yet again. Read on!
This week in Q&A - Dinosaur envy! Are Jurassic toys flourishing at a smaller scale? Yes, of course. And Dumpster Diving is fun.

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Moff Gideon (Mission Fleet). Sure, it's a toy, and yes, it's on clearance, but Hasbro did a really great job here. The face sculpt and deco are good, the TIE Fighter is genuinely impressive, and if this were a 3 3/4-inch scaled vehicle with a realistically proportioned figure you'd be all over it. But it wasn't - so I bought one at Burlington on clearance for a few bucks, and it's absolutely worth it. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: See-Threepio (C-3PO, The Retro Collection). While some of the retro figures - while good - lack some details or seem a little soft in spots, C-3PO seems to be extremely close to the original, even more so than some of the third-party remakes. The details around his bolts and belly are all there, and while it's not 100% identical to the 1978 figure it's certainly close enough. He even has the metal bolt in his back - go ask your magnets to prove it for you. You should get this one. Read on!
This week in Q&A - Size matters - is there still more money in 6-inch? More or less, yes. And the unsold toys - what happens?

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Mon Mothma (Senator, The Black Series). She has no accessories, but is a pretty decent looking figure who, in my findings, didn't stand so good. But she's the secret star of Andor, so you might want to grab one. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Kithaba (2023 Reissue, The Vintage Collection). Take three! The first one had a brown bandanna, then there was a red variation. This one from last month has some of that fancy tiny dot printing, giving it a slightly different look - especially if you squint and have a microscope. But you don't, so it's just a good new edition of an alien figure that you probably very much want. Read on!
This week in Q&A - Why did Mando not twist or shout with season 3? Also scale - big, small, we're in a weird world after 40 years.
Be sure you send in your questions. I'm one question short for next week, so it's a good time to share what's on your mind. Read on!
Via the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Menu: May 27, 2023. Several years ago, the first painted Healey Made Glyos figure was the Raider (Shadow) - this new one changes up a few paint hits, and adds a cloth cape to the mix. It's basically just different enough to make you mad, but I bought one anyway. Click here to see if it's still able to be ordered. At press time it's still available for $25 and is a nice fit with your original Kenner figures, even if it's not really a Star Wars guy.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Han Solo (Endor, The Retro Collection). The skin color of modern retro guys aren't as good as the originals, but the sculpt is excellent and so is the coat. Given the coat covers most of this somewhat hard-to-find 1984 figure, I'd say it's worth getting aboard the "good enough" train. Toot toot.
Also happy 40th birthday to Return of the Jedi, the milestone that reminds the VHS generation of fans that they are now old.
