Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Count Dooku (The Vintage Collection) . This figure is excellent - I got a bum one with two identical upper arms, and I still was thoroughly impressed by the likeness, detail, deco, articulation, and especially the cape. It's by no means perfect, but considering the last movie Dooku we had was over 10 years ago it's an easy figure to like. Also it seems to be selling out, so go get yours before it's gone. Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Does Dark Forces have a future in toys? I am not super optimistic. Also Themes, Dreams, and Schemes - how are things looking now that we're having a specific wave again?
Be sure you send in your questions, the mail bag is empty. We have no questions for next week's update, which may mean I get a break. Read on!
Via Hallmark: Star Wars™ Darth Vader™ Vintage Figure Ornament . Yes, that does indeed look like a carded Kenner action figure, with no weathering or funky stickers, that you hang on a tree. (True story, this is how my parents gave me a few of my figures on Christmas.) It's $22.99 and measures 3 x 4.5 x 0.7 inches... so you might want to just buy a Star Wars The Retro Collection Action Figures Set of 6, which includes Vader as well as an additional five figures.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Saw Gerrera (The Black Series). This is not a figure that kept its value, but it is a pretty good one. It's loaded with sculpted detail, some of which isn't painted, but it's excellent at the current market prices. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Paz Vizsla (Epic Hero Series). This figure feels like a real Kenner toy from the late 1980s or 1990s, with lots of fun parts. It's not cheap at $15, but it is incredibly satisfying and I would say pick it up and keep on on your desk to play with. I think you'll be pleased. Read on!

Via CNN: 99 Cents Only Stores is winding down its business operations.
As a place to buy toys, it's been weird - but good. LEGO dumoed some LEGO Dimensions games packs here, you could buy Hot Wheels cars, you could find those weird cheap bagged Hasbro Marvel figures, and various sodas or other ramens and snacks. It's been a little lacking for toys lately, and I guess now we know why. With Dollar Tree also closing some stores, and Tuesday Morning closed, I can't say I'm feeling great about the future of retail stores with a few pegs devoted to toys.
One of the stores near me still has some 12-inch Hasbro Titan-size Star Wars figures that just sat forever, and I've seen those Jumbo Jakks figures there as well as a lot of 3 3/4-inch stufff from the Disney movie era.
With Dollar Tree/Family Dollar closing more stores, and Tuesday Morning ceasing operations, there has been a dramatic reduction in where you can find unusual, cheap stuff.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: 3PO Protocol Droid (Red, Droid Factory). This is not the carded one - but there's a comparison photo in the review. This is the one from the bins that no longer exist. The red color is a little different and the white eyes pop nicely. Read on!

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Morgan Elsbeth (The Retro Collection). I just saw her on clearance at Target over the weekend, but she's been scarce. This figure has no accessories, and is missing some key make-up detail, but is otherwise pretty excellent. If you see her on sale, definitely pick up one. Read on!
This week in Star Wars Q&A - Casepack Sizes Will we ever go large again? Not for collector lines. And The Best Advancements in 3 3/4-inch Figures. Things have gotten a lot more impressive, even if you don't want to admit it.

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R5-D4 (The Mandalorian, The Vintage Collection). This looks a lot like a figure from 12 years ago, at about twice the price, but is cheaper than buying that release in today's market. It lacks The Mandalorian-specific deco, but if you have a Sandcrawler that needs droids? This is good. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R5-D4 (The Mandalorian, The Black Series). There was a new R2-D2 mold last year, and this R5-D4 figure uses it - with a bad motivator, and a new dome. It's clean, and lacks the Mando-specific dirt patterns. But other than that, it's a perfectly nice droid figure. Read on!
