Kotobukiya's red hot ARTFX+ line has been a great seller for the Japanese company to the point that they're pulling back on their larger 1/7 scale ARTFX statues. The interchangeable parts, displayability, and pricepoint have made them popular with collectors.
Their latest entry in the line is a new Jango Fett (with detachable head, we presume) that will include multiple arms for various display options. The 1/10 scaled bounty hunter will be priced for $49.99 and slated for release in early 2013. Also scheduled for later in the year are a new ROTJ Darth Vader and Royal Guard 2 Pack. Vader includes swappable heads with the unhelmeted head a great likeness to actor Sebastian Shaw.
Another assortment trending up in popularity is their new Bishoujo line. This Japanese "pretty girl" assortment launches with Jaina Solo in X-wing Fighter Pilot uniform. The new 1/7 scale line is refreshing with its Japanese style and distinctiveness and has received a lot of positive response. Kotobukiya has announced the second Bishoujo statue to be Mara Jade Skywalker.
R2-A6 has been a mainstay in Kotobukiya's booth display, sharing the company's brand color of green and acting as their company's Star Wars mascot. For Celebration VI, R2-A6 (a nice connection with the numbering) will be their exclusive at a very low run of only 500 pieces. With Hasbro not having an exclusive at the show and for a pricepoint of only $29.99, this little droid won't last too long, especially when it includes an awesome commemorative metal coin. Collectors like astromech droids and coins.
Other items on display at their booth are a new line of Light-Up Lightsaber chopsticks and a cool Death Star Silicone ice tray.
