This week in Q&A - Carbon frozen figures! There are more or less than you thought - but I don't know what you think. Also size problems - we're about to have even more size problems.
Be sure you send in your questions for next time. Our mail bag is empty for October. Read on!
Forbes has posted a feature called The Next Chapter In The Toys R Us Story? Interactive Play Spaces. There's a gift shop, but it's not a store - it probably won't be collector-friendly and it sounds like it won't be much of a retail powerhouse, either, if sales are not an emphasis in its floorplan. These two non-stores will open in Atlanta and Chicago, and if any of you are going we would love pictures. It's $28 for adults, $20 for kids, and they're asking manufacturers for sponsorship opportunities. This ain't your daddy's Toys R Us, where $20-$28 would actually net you some toys to bring home.
Actual Toys R Us-branded stores are opening in Houston, TX and Paramus, NJ.
One of my friends described this play space as a paid Instagram experience.
This nifty Commander Pyre (The First Order, Galaxy's Edge, The Black Series 6-Inch) is pure gold. Well, gold, black, a little grey... it's a Stormtrooper redeco. Read on!
The Kenner-style Stormtrooper (The Retro Collection) is a lot like you remember from 41 years ago, but with some minor changes. The hands are a little different. The neck still doesn't turn. It's pretty good. Read on!
This week in Q&A - Star Wars screen speculation! Big ones, small ones, ones you can put in your pocket - are we about to see a massive shift in perspective? Also Wishlists & Disappointments - this is our deal, yes.
Be sure you send in your questions for next time. Our mail bag is empty. Read on!
A First Order trooper that uses some Empire parts, the Mountain Trooper (The First Order, Galaxy's Edge, The Black Series 6-Inch) is pretty nifty - but basically looks like a Scarif trooper if you squint. He comes with Kylo Ren, Commander Pyre, and a Mouse Droid. It's a decent set. Should you get it? Read on!
It's OK. The Kylo Ren (The First Order, Galaxy's Edge, The Black Series 6-Inch) is by no means a bad figure, but if you're a completist you'll be annoyed that you likely have one or more figures just like it. The Last Jedi Kylo Ren body has the plastic helmet head, and odds are you'll have a crack at another figure like it in a few weeks. Read on!
This week in Q&A - Crowdfunding! What happens if something fails to materialize on HasLab? Probably nothing! And Skiff Upgrades - you better believe the 2019 model is a gem.
Be sure you send in your questions for next time. Our mail bag is empty after next week, so we've got room for you. Read on!
Ad: In stock now - Star Wars The Vintage Collection Skiff Vehicle - Exclusive! Hasbro doesn't do a lot of new mold vintage ships, but you can get this one right now.
In stock while supplies last.
Editorial comment - I (Adam) just opened mine and put it together - it's great.
Everything old is newish again! The DJ R3X (Droid Depot, The Black Series 6-Inch) takes the 1987 design and adds some new stuff and a fresh coat of paint to it - it's also the only Rex droid in this scale so far. Is the three-armed wonder worth tracking down? Read on!
Ad: New and from the next movie, the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker The Black Series Sith Trooper 6-Inch Action Figure is available for order today!
Order yours at Entertainment Earth now!
Everything old remains old with Luke Skywalker (The Retro Collection) - celebrating four decades and a year of existing, this classic yellow-head figure was briefly back in stores provided you didn't blink. Target had them in the spring, Entertainment Earth had them in the summer, and you hopefully got one in one of those two releases. It's a little different, but it's pretty close to the original - certainly better than the 1995 Kenner Classic 4-Pack version. Read on!
This week in Q&A - How can Mattel and Hasbro both have Star Wars? That's the post-Disney sale world - they shared "dolls" and "die-cast metal," who knows what could be next! Also Store priorities - it's complicated, clandestine, and really not all that interesting. But hey, it's Labor Day.

They're sold out, but the Chewbacca (The Retro Collection) is pretty cool. It's like the orgiinal, and close enough that if you didn't grow up with it you probably won't notice a huge difference - but the paint, sculpting, feel, and copyright marks give away its modern origins. Read on!
Check out the 0-0-0 (Triple Zero, The Black Series 6-Inch) - it's C-3PO with new arms, in black. The hands are swappable, the colors are pretty good, and he's from a comic book you probably stopped reading by now, but is still being published. Read on!
