Our Toy Fair coverage continues with photos from the LEGO press event this morning. A few awesome sets are slated for the fall including a Sith Nightspeeder with Savage Opress minifig, Republic Frigate, and Millennium Falcon. Guests were also given a limited edition LEGO Star Wars miniland boxed set of Han Solo and Chewbacca. These figures are the actual design and scale that will be displayed in the forthcoming LEGOLAND attraction.
Hasbro put on their fancy duds today to show off their latest new and shiny goodies for 2011. Here's a PDF of the Power Point presentation for your perusal. The whole gang is here - including Bastilla Shan (not shown in the showroom) and the Mail-Away Prototype Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett. Enjoy, and let us know what you think of this year's starting line-up.
The upcoming Republic Attack Shuttle is this year's BIG ship featuring plenty of features in vehicle and battle mode. Check out this Hasbro Toy Fair showroom video demonstrating its many capabilities. The pricepoint is $79.99, includes a pack-in Clone, and is slated for release this fall. Enjoy!
Our first wave of images from the Hasbro Toy Fair presentation are up and ready for your perusal. We have Jedi, an Ewok, and Sith Lords - oh my! (Look for the "next" link at the bottom to scroll through the pix and keep the fun rolling!) As always, feel free to comment. What do YOU think about this year's haul?
The official Toy Fair presentation images from Hasbro have been added to our Image Bank as we work through our "on the scene shots". Some figures like Bastilla Shan were not on display, so the official image is the only way to see her. Also note that Barris Offee will have a plastic cloak, not the soft goods version shown. (The aesthetic did not quite match the look Hasbro desired.)
A few notes on this afternoon's Hasbro presentation:
The big news announcement, especially for Vintage Collection fans is the specially carded Revenge of the Jedi cardbacks featuring the unproduced title and logo for Episode VI. There will be 12 figures carded with this logo including a new Slave Leia, B-wing Pilot, Death Star Luke. These will not be considered chase Galactic Hunt figures and should be readily available in retail.
We are as live as we can be at the Hasbro Collector Event at Toy Fair in New York City. Keep your eyes on this article as we update. Vintage continues through 2012.. Clone Commander Wolf. Grievous With Mini Speeder. RC Republic Tank.
Dark Horse in May brings us the grand finale for Darth Vader and the Lost Command and Star Wars: Legacy mini-series. Jedi: The Dark Side mini-series makes its debut where Qui-Gon Jinn is dispatched to the homeworld of his padawan where a civil war has just broken out. See the latest solicitations and cover images ahead!
From our sponsors at Brian's Toys: Han Solo put the entire galaxy on his back! And his quick thinking probably saved Leia & Luke from being squashed mon calamari in the trash compactor. You can relive that moments forever by purchasing the highly-detailed bookends from Gentle Giant.
Hasbro loves upgrades, and this Obi-Wan Kenobi takes a good figure and makes it even better by adding cloth robes plus jointed knees and ankles. Packaged with your choice of vehicles, it's a great, great figure you really need to get for piloting purposes. Read on!
Team Galactic Hunter has touched down in New York City for Toy Fair 2011! We'll be blasting news and getting the goods to you all weekend long. Everything kicks off on Saturday with Hasbro's annual epic presentation, followed by LEGO on Sunday! We'll be stalking out the news. So stay tuned fellow Hunters!
He had to come up eventually! Jabba the Hutt was the most sought-after exclusive of late summer 2010, and today? Half price. Life just isn't fair, but even if you paid full price for this guy, I expect you'll like it. Want to see more? Read on!
A holdover from Wave 2 Revenge of the Sith, Yoda gets remixed somewhat in Wave 5. Featuring a vastly improved repainted head sculpt from the 2007 Kybruck figure along with that version's torso, Vintage Yoda sports new swivel jointed arms and ball jointed shoulders and knees. The cloak also fits nicely, and as Adam Pawlus noted in this week's Q&A, lacks a hood and features some Dagobah like weathering. In whole, it's a great figure and we really like the inclusion of The Force blast/shield accessory.
Hi - Here is a quick update from http://www.bigbadtoystore.com about a variety of new preorders and more cool new arrivals including the Premium Format Emperor Palpatine from Sideshow. Also shipping tomorrow is the 12" Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead)!
