I got my box of Entertainment Earth Exclusive Comic Packs today (full disclosure: I work there for my day job) and I was surprised to see not only was a bonus helmet included for Baron Fel, but a new, previously unseen comic pack based on Empire Strikes Back movie figures-- including one you might find particularly desirable-- were shown on the back.  While no plans are known for a release date of this item, we have more pics of this unique set (and quick text reviews of the rest) after the jump.

Most notable on the figure of Baron Fel is an accessory of a glossy black Rebel helmet with a bright red Rebel logo on it, which was absent from the early photography. (Aside from some of the Mandalorian weapons, this is the only accessory previously unseen by most fans in the new exclusive.) Most notable on the back of the packaging for these sets is an unannounced and previously unseen Classic Star Wars #2 set which includes Super Articulated Bespin Han Solo and a white Rebel Pilot Luke Skywalker. Nifty! Note: It is entirely possible that this item will never, ever make it out, so don't get your hopes up just yet. 

But how are the sets?  I got about 5 minutes of hands-on time with each so far, so have some very brief first impressions.  Oh yeah, and these opinions do not necessarily reflect those of any employers or other people or whatever.  So yeah, keep reading.

Baron Fel and Ysanne Isard use the most old parts of any of the set-- Fel is essentially the 2009 Captain Needa body with a new head, a hat, a helmet, and new gloves. Ysanne is the Juno Eclipse/Deena Shan body with new deco and a new head, which works well enough for her. Each is super-articulated and for fans of the X-Wing Rogue Squadron figures, it's certainly a step in the right direction-- although we're still lacking a good, solid pilot (Rebel or Imperial) version of the Baron still. (The 2007 one sucked.)

Montross and Jaster Mereel use a few recycled parts, which was actually somewhat surprising. Montross and Jaster each have three new weapons each, with some really excellent sculpting-- the butt on Jaster's rifle has a Bantha Skull (or whatever it's been retconned into these days) sculpted on it, and the weapons look really great. Montross reuses Evolutions Boba Fett's torso, helmet scuplt, and jetpack, with all of the limbs and head being new. Why they didn't just do up a new beefy torso, I don't know. Jaster is a resculpted Evolutions Jango Fett with a new head (I'll leave it up to you to decide which political figure it looks like), with a new belt and a new head. Both figures have new cloth capes.

Rohlan Dyre and Jarael are completely new sculpts-- as far as I can tell, nothing is recycled, or at least it isn't obvious. Mandalorian Rohlan is super-articulated, as a removable helmet and jetpack, plus comes armed with a knife and a blaster which he can holster on his person. His sculpt is exquisite, his armor deco is amazing, but his helmet deco is a little weak compared to the rest of the outfit and his scarred face looks like they could have been a little more subtle-- but helmeted, he's pretty awesome even if you've never read the comic series. It's really a wonderful figure in its own right-- you're going to like it. Jarael is a blue girl covered in some tattoos, plus she has soft goods made out of a new material I haven't seen used in Star Wars before-- it's a little stiffer and looks better. She has a removable satchel accessory and possibly the prettiest face I've seen on a female Star Wars figure. Each figure has 12 points of articulation-- neither has ankles, but you won't miss them. The quality here is, overall, some of Hasbro's finest comic pack work. I can live with a scar I can remove if it means spiked Mandalorians live on my desk.

Darth Nihil and Deliah Blue are the nakedest figures in the set. I never realized Nihil didn't wear pants until seeing the figure tonight and then checking the comics for reference-- sure enough, the dude fights sans pantaloons. His lightsaber cane has a removable blade and his Nagai ancestry is evident in his marked-up white skin. (He's very pale.) Due to his odd loincloth armor design garment, his legs move freely and the Vong-esque armor looks really nice on him. This is a pretty dang nice figure. He has 14 points of articulation, while Deliah has 12. Deliah will probably be remembered mostly for her partially opened shirt and the way the light emphasizes her breasts, but it's important to remember that she's the only Zeltron which has made it to action figure form-- we're sorry they forgot you, Dani! Her pink skin and purple hair look great, she's nicely articulated and wears one of the most colorful costumes this side of the Clone Wars. Both are great figures, particularly for those looking to adding to Darth Krayt's Sith Order. (We just need a few more-- here's hoping these sell well enough to convince Hasbro to keep going!)
